Senate Republicans released a new budget blueprint.

NBC News wrote, “They hope to adopt the plan in the coming days to instruct committees to begin work a massive bill to pass Trump’s agenda on taxes, immigration funding and other priorities. ”

Senate Republicans released a new budget blueprint Wednesday that would pave the way for $1.5 trillion in new tax cuts in addition to making President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanent.

They hope to adopt the plan in the coming days to instruct committees to begin work a massive bill to pass Trump’s agenda on taxes, immigration funding and other priorities. Senate Republicans are using the budget “reconciliation” process to evade the 60-vote hurdle in the chamber, where they hold a 53-47 majority, and cut Democrats out of the process.

Republicans are using a controversial new accounting method known as “current policy baseline” to score the cost of a Trump tax cut extension at $0. Democrats have slammed it as “magic math” that papers over the multitrillion-dollar cost of extending those tax cuts and are exploring their options to challenge the approach.

The Senate GOP budget resolution includes a $5 trillion debt limit increase.

Donald Trump endorsed the plan.

Trump said, “Every Republican, House and Senate, must UNIFY. We need to pass it IMMEDIATELY!”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams will not be running as a Democrat in the New York City Mayoral race.

Adams announced he will be running as an independent.

Adams said, “I have always put New York’s people before politics and party — and I always will. I am running for mayor in the general election because our city needs independent leadership that understands working people.”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams will run for reelection as an independent, opting out of the Democratic primary just one day after a federal judge dismissed corruption charges against him.

“I have always put New York’s people before politics and party — and I always will. I am running for mayor in the general election because our city needs independent leadership that understands working people,” Adams said in a Thursday morning post on X.

In a Thursday interview with Politico, which first reported the news, Adams explained that he wants to “mount a real independent campaign” now that he is “uninhibited” by the federal bribery case that “handcuffed him.” The independent campaign, he explained, would rely on a “solid base of people” outside Manhattan.

A federal judge dismissed the charges against him on Wednesday.

A federal judge dismissed New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ corruption case on Wednesday, agreeing it was the only practical outcome while blasting the Justice Department’s “troubling” rationale for wanting the charges thrown out — namely so the Democrat could help President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

The judge, though, denied prosecutors the option to refile the charges after the mayoral election. Judge Dale E. Ho’s order to dismiss the case “with prejudice” spares Adams from having to govern in a way that pleases Trump or potentially risk having the Republican’s Justice Department revive the charges.

The judge said he wasn’t opining on the merits of the case, but that courts can’t force prosecutors to move forward. Still, he expressed qualms about the government’s move, saying “there are many reasons to be troubled” by its reasoning.

Even elected officials are leaving the Democrat party.

Voter ID is now enshrined in the Wisconsin state constitution.

Voters approved the measure on Tuesday night.

When the vote was called, 60% were in favor.

Voters approved a proposed constitutional amendment to enshrine Wisconsin’s photo ID requirement in the state constitution.

At the time the vote was called 60 percent voted in favor of the statewide referendum, and 40 percent voted against.

Voters in Wisconsin are already required to present a photo ID at the polls. However, Republicans hailed the measure as a way to bolster election security and protect the law from being overturned in court, citing polls that show broad support for voter ID requirements in Wisconsin.

The Trump administration has deported over 100,000 illegal aliens since Donald Trump’s inauguration.

An ICE source told the New York Post, “He’s doing what he was voted in to do. Point blank!”

Deportations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement surged above 100,000 since President Trump returned to the White House in January — as he maintains his promise to boot illegal migrants, alleged gangbangers and suspected terrorists from the United States, The Post has learned.

ICE officials have made 113,000 arrests and carried out “north of” 100,000 deportations since Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration, a Department of Homeland Security source told The Post Monday.

“He’s doing what he was voted in to do. Point blank!” an ICE source said.

Illegal border crossings have plummeted since Donald Trump took office.

They are down 94% since March of 2024.

Donald Trump is heading to the Middle East for his first foreign trip.

He plans on traveling to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and possibly the United Arab Emirates.

President Trump said Monday that he will travel to the Middle East in the coming weeks for what is slated to be the first foreign trip of his second term.

Trump told reporters in the Oval Office he plans to travel to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with a possible stop in the United Arab Emirates. The president teased there could be other countries included on the trip as well.

Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced in January that the kingdom plans to invest $600 billion in the United States over the next four years.

Trump said the trip “could be next month, maybe a little bit later.” The president had previously suggested he could meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saudi Arabia in the coming months as part of peace talks in Ukraine. It’s unclear if that would be part of the trip Trump outlined on Monday.

Trump made his first foreign trip to the Middle East in 2017 as well.

A key special election is taking place in Florida’s 6th Congressional District on Tuesday.

Republican Randy Fine is facing Democrat Joshua Weil for the House seat.

The election is taking place to replace now-Trump National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

Republicans nationwide are turning their eyes and focus to Florida’s 6th Congressional District’s special election, occurring Tuesday, where Republican Randy Fine seeks to prevent an upset victory by Democrat Joshua Weil.

Axios reported a poll from Donald Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio, showing Fine losing to Weil by three percentage points, despite the district being ruby red. Such a result would be a shock.

The 6th District was held by now-Trump National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, who won the seat in 2024 by 33 points.

Donald Trump will be meeting with Bill Maher.

The Bureau of Land Management leased 34 parcels totaling 25,038 acres for $39,007,609 in total receipts for its first quarter of fiscal year 2025 oil and gas lease sales. The combined bonus bids and rentals from the leases will be distributed between the federal government and the states where the parcels are located. The BLM held oil and gas lease sales in Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Wyoming and Nevada.
