“Democratic Brand Is Toxic Right Now” – Gavin Newsom Makes Big Admission About Dem Party Brand

California Governor Gavin Newsom made a major admission about the Democrat party.

While speaking with Bill Maher, he called the Democrat brand “toxic.”

The Hill reported:

“I mean, this idea that we can’t even have a conversation with the other side … or the notion we just have to continue to talk to ourselves or win the same damn echo chamber, these guys are crushing us,” he continued, referencing Republicans who have seen better numbers in recent elections.

“The Democratic brand is toxic right now,” the governor said, adding later that “we talk down to people. We talk past people.”

“And I think with this podcast and having the opportunity to dialog with people I disagree with, it’s an opportunity to try to find common ground and not take cheap shots,” he said. “I’m not looking to put a spoke in the wheel of their or … a crowbar in the spokes of their wheel to trip them up.”

According to an NBC Poll, the Democrat Party’s popularity hit an all-time low.

Only 27% said they have positive views of the party.

NBC News reported:

The Democratic Party has reached an all-time low in popularity in the latest national NBC News poll, as it searches for a path forward after a painful loss to President Donald Trump — and as the party’s voters spoil for a fight between their leaders in Washington and Trump.

Just over a quarter of registered voters (27%) say they have positive views of the party, which is the party’s lowest positive rating in NBC News polling dating back to 1990. Just 7% say those views are “very” positive.

“With these numbers, the Democratic Party is not in need of a rebrand. It needs to be rebooted,” said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who conducted the survey along with GOP pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies.

Even Democrats know that their party is in trouble.

Book: Biden Aides Warned Dropping Biden And Nominating Kamala Harris Would Be A Mistake

According to a new book, Joe Biden’s aides warned Democrat donors that having Biden drop out and be replaced by Kamala Harris would be a mistake.

The book “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House” detailed the tensions between Biden and Harris before he dropped out.

Fox News reported:

Aides to President Biden told Democratic donors that it would be a “mistake” for him to drop out of the race in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, according to an upcoming book.

The Guardian published excerpts on Thursday from “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” which detailed tensions between Biden and Harris ahead of him dropping out of the presidential race in July.

The excerpts showed Biden’s team “aggressively” pushed back against donors who considered removing him from the race over concerns about his age. One of the ways allegedly included warning that Harris as the replacement Democratic nominee would be a “mistake.”

The Guardian published excerpts from the book.

One quote in the book is, “The last threat, the ace in the hole, was Kamala Harris. Even if Biden did drop out and you got your dreamed-up open convention, you would only succeed in nominating the vice-president. Is that what you want? You want her? Look at her polling. No one wants her. Forget it. It’s never gonna happen.”

The Guardian reported:

“One donor on the receiving end of an electronic message summed up the sentiments of Biden’s top aides: ‘They were aggressively saying that we would wind up with the vice-president and that would be a mistake.’”

“It all sounded like a serial killer’s conspiracy theory. Donors want to scrap Biden so they can get his wannabe replacements – the governors, with power over state decisions – to beg them for cash, Biden aides argued.

“This isn’t fucking Wall Street financiers versus Ivy League presidents. Our guy isn’t scared of your money. We have grassroots donors. We have the support of the voters. We have the nomination in hand. All you’re doing is fucking yourself and the president. We will remember this. Capisce?

“The last threat, the ace in the hole, was Kamala Harris. Even if Biden did drop out and you got your dreamed-up open convention, you would only succeed in nominating the vice-president. Is that what you want? You want her? Look at her polling. No one wants her. Forget it. It’s never gonna happen.”

Even Biden aides knew Kamala Harris was a bad candidate.

Trump Holds Tele-Rally For “Critical” Special House Election

A critical special election is taking place on April 1st in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

The race is between Democrat Joshua Weil and Republican Randy Fine.

Trump National Security Advisor Mike Waltz previously held the seat.

Donald Trump held a tele-rally with Randy Fine on Thursday.

Breitbart reported:

President Donald Trump urged voters in Florida’s Sixth Congressional District to get out and vote for Republican Randy Fine in a critical special House election during a tele-rally with the candidate on Thursday.

Trump urged those on the call to support Fine via early voting or in person on election day Tuesday, as Democrats try to flip the district in hopes of cutting into House Republicans’ already thin, 218-213-seat majority.

“We’re just a few days away from an all-important special election taking place in your state on Tuesday, April 1, and I’m asking you to get out and vote for a true American patriot, somebody I’ve gotten to know very well, Randy Fine,” Trump said.

“Early voting is underway and continues through this Saturday, so go vote early tomorrow or Saturday, or make plans to go on election day. The main thing is to go vote,” he added.

Republicans currently hold a 6.5-point advantage in early voting.

According to Florida Voice News, “Florida Republicans hope for a turnout advantage of over R+10 – preferably, R+12 or greater – to avoid catastrophe. That means they’ll need to gain 4-6 percentage points by the end of Tuesday night.”

FLVoiceNews reported:

That lead for the GOP has been slowly increasing as early voting continued this week.

As over 36,000 Republicans and 31,100 Democrats have voted, over 12,000 “no party affiliation” or “other party” voters have cast a ballot as well; that could conceivably position Weil for an upset victory if he performs with non-major party voters, and if Weil can perform better inside his own party than Fine with the GOP.

To feel comfortable, Florida Republicans hope for a turnout advantage of over R+10 – preferably, R+12 or greater – to avoid catastrophe. That means they’ll need to gain 4-6 percentage points by the end of Tuesday night.

This is a key election.

RFK Jr Cutting 10K Employees From HHS

The Department of Health and Human Services is cutting 10,000 employees.

RFK Jr. said, “We are streamlining HHS to make our agency more efficient and more effective.”

CNN reported:

The US Department of Health and Human Services will announce Thursday it is cutting 10,000 full-time employees across health agencies, the department told CNN.

This comes on top of 10,000 employees who’ve left voluntarily, amounting to shrinking by about a quarter of the workforce.

This will downsize the department to 62,000 full-time employees when factoring in voluntary departures.

Reuters reported:

The restructuring, along with previous voluntary departures, will result in a total downsizing to 62,000 full-time employees from 82,000.

RFK Jr also added, “We aren’t just reducing bureaucratic sprawl. We are realigning the organization with its core mission and our new priorities in reversing the chronic disease epidemic.”

“Oversold What He Had” – JD Vance Responds After More Signal Texts Are Released

The Atlantic has released more Signal messages.

They titled their article “Here Are the Attack Plans That Trump’s Advisers Shared on Signal.”

Image

Fox News reported:

The Atlantic published Wednesday what it described as the “attack plans” at the center of a Signal text chain leak involving senior officials in the Trump administration.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and national security adviser Mike Waltz have faced calls to resign following revelations that the outlet’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was inadvertently added to a private group chat earlier this month in which Hegseth, Waltz, Vice President JD Vance and other top administration officials reportedly discussed impending airstrikes on Yemen’s Houthi rebels. Hegseth has said “nobody was texting war plans” and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard vowed during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing Tuesday that there was “no classified material” in the messages.

The Atlantic said in its report Wednesday – titled “Here Are the Attack Plans That Trump’s Advisers Shared on Signal” – that “the statements by Hegseth, Gabbard, Ratcliffe, and Trump – combined with the assertions made by numerous administration officials that we are lying about the content of the Signal texts – have led us to believe that people should see the texts in order to reach their own conclusions.”

JD Vance said that “it’s very clear Goldberg oversold what he had.”

Karoline Leavitt said, “The Atlantic has conceded: these were NOT ‘war plans.”

FCC Rejects CBS Attempt To Dismiss Complaint Over Kamala Harris 60 Minutes Interview

The FCC rejected CBS’s attempt to get a compliant over their 60 minutes interview with Kamala Harris dismissed.

Trump has sued CBS for $20 billion.

New York Post reported:

The FCC on Tuesday shot down CBS’s bid to immediately dismiss a complaint from a conservative group over the controversial “60 Minutes” interview with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris just weeks before the election.

The show drew criticism from the Center for American Rights and then-presidential candidate Donald Trump over CBS’s broadcast of a portion of Harris’ answer to a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on “60 Minutes” and a different portion of her answer to the same question on “Face the Nation.”

Trump has sued CBS for $20 billion, alleging that “60 Minutes” deceptively edited the interview in order to interfere with the election, which he easily won over the vice president.

FCC Chair Brendan Carr said, “We’re not close in my view to the position of dismissing that complaint at this point.”

Reuters reported:

FCC Chair Brendan Carr rejected the idea, telling Reuters on Tuesday that there is still an ongoing investigation. “We’re not close in my view to the position of dismissing that complaint at this point,” he said.

The FCC is reviewing whether the broadcast violates “news distortion” rules. Though the agency is prohibited from censorship or infringing the First Amendment rights of media, broadcasters cannot intentionally distort the news.

Bad news for CBS.
