Back in May of 2024, Joe Biden asserted executive privilege to stop the release of his interview with Robert Hur.

According to a transcript of it, Biden had poor memory and mental lapses several times during the interview.

President Joe Biden asserted executive privilege on Thursday over his interview with special counsel Robert Hur to prevent Congress from obtaining his audio recordings.

The House Oversight Committee scheduled a markup on Thursday to begin the process of holding Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for his refusal to hand over the recording.

During the president’s interview with Hur, Biden, 81, experienced mental lapses and “poor memory” at least seven times, according to a transcript obtained by Breitbart News.

“I write to inform you that the President has asserted executive privilege over the requested audio recordings and is making a protective assertion of privilege over any remaining materials responsive to the subpoenas that have not already been produced,” Associate Attorney General Carlos Uriarte wrote to House Judiciary and Oversight Committee chairs Jim Jordan (R-OH) and James Comer (R-KY).

The Trump administration is reportedly making plans to release the tapes.

The Trump administration is making plans to release the audio of former President Joe Biden’s interview with Robert Hur, the special counsel who investigated Biden’s handling of classified documents and raised questions about his mental acuity, according to two Republicans briefed by top Trump officials.

The details of the plan are in flux and it is not clear whether President Donald Trump and his advisers have made a final decision to make the audio public.

Biden’s camp is girding for the possible release, said two people familiar with the former president’s preparations and granted anonymity to speak freely.

A deadline of sorts is approaching on May 20: In separate Freedom of Information Act lawsuits brought by conservative groups like Judicial Watch and the Heritage Foundation and various news organizations, the Justice Department has been ordered by a judge to say whether it will stand by Biden’s assertion of executive privilege to block the release of the tapes. Last May, Biden and his Justice Department claimed releasing the tapes would have a chilling effect on witnesses cooperating in high-profile investigations.

DOGE savings have jumped again.

DOGE said that the total savings have reached $165 billion, which they say is $1,024.84 savings per taxpayer.

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) says it has officially saved over $1,000 per taxpayer.

DOGE says its estimated total savings has now reached $165 billion. This is all a combination of “asset sales, contract/lease cancellations and renegotiations, fraud and improper payment deletion, grant cancellations, interest savings, programmatic changes, regulatory savings, and workforce reductions,” according to the official DOGE website.

However, that cost savings breaks down to $1,024.84 per taxpayer, and DOGE calculates that figure by accounting for approximately 161 million individual federal taxpayers in the U.S.

Elon Musk reflected on the job DOGE has done after the first 100 days of the Trump administration.

On day 101 of the second Trump administration, Elon Musk recognized that his mission to cleanse the federal government of “waste, fraud and abuse” hasn’t been easy.

But Musk believes he and his team have had success — and the team will continue on its mission, according to Musk, well beyond 100 days.

“There are hundreds of thousands of cases of fraud in the federal government,” Musk told reporters.

“We try to find the cases that are the most clear cut, we send that evidence to the DOJ, where they run it through their process, which takes several weeks,” Musk said, explaining that from there the DOJ has to decide whether it has the resources to pursue the case, if worthwhile.

DOGE is saving the American taxpayer money.

The Trump administration is keeping its promises to the American people.

The Department of Transportation has purged over 3,000 woke grants from the Biden administration.

The Trump administration awarded 180 of the 3,200 infrastructure grants.

Of the ones that were awarded, all social justice, DEI, and Green New Deal elements were removed.

The DOT is planning to announce Tuesday that they have awarded 180 of the 3,200 infrastructure grants that were previously backlogged under the Biden administration, according to materials shared with the Caller. The grants were previously under review by the department for social justice, DEI and Green New Deal initiatives, the Caller previously reported. With the Department’s Tuesday action, some of the 3,200 grants backlogged, totaling more than $3.2 billion, have been awarded for various projects but stripped of any social justice, DEI and Green New Deal elements, according to materials shared with the Caller.

“America is building again. At the Department of Transportation, that means getting back to basics: Building More, Building Efficiently and Building Quickly. The last administration liked to grab the headlines but didn’t want to do the hard work of building,” Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy said in a statement shared with the Caller.

“They also tied road construction up with red tape and leftist social requirements – adding millions in costs and months of delay – all while our outdated infrastructure sat in disrepair. This administration has a different vision: drain the swamp and make government work for the American people,” he continued.

This isn’t the only area in which the Trump administration is saving taxpayers money.

DOGE claims they have saved over $1,000 per American taxpayer.

It amounts to around $1,024.84 saved per taxpayer, according to the organization that was established by President Donald Trump in January.
